Yvette Rodriguez (Team Leader) Chapter Presentation Reflection
I was open and thorough when I first started the speech class. I assumed that this class would be like most others in that you would be left on your own to navigate life. On this, I was terribly mistaken, as it turned out to be the exact opposite. The first task we had to perform was a group project in which we had to come together to present the allocated chapter and, in turn, teach it to the group. It was a little different in my situation and another student's case because we were tasked with aiding the teacher in guiding the pupils and introducing the presentations to the rest of the class. This was a fundamental leadership responsibility in the virtual classroom. This implied that every student would approach us with any queries they might have.
Group 1:
The intercultural communication chapter was used in the first presentation and group. In my experience, the group grew close and friendly to one another really soon. Throughout the entire project, they have shown a feeling of community and communication, and they continue to do so. They were also unafraid to ask questions, which in my opinion requires a lot of self-assurance in one's character. I've encountered a lot of individuals who tell me they are hesitant to approach anything because they could come out as too bashful, awkward, or other things. based on what I can tell, the gang has sufficiently strengthened one another to talk in class and raise their hands whenever necessary, or even just to engage in light discussion. They presented with a level of confidence that was clearly visible to me. Each group member was able to collaborate on organizing their PowerPoint presentations and deliver their assigned portion of the chapter demonstration.
Group 2:
There was a chapter on group communication in the case of the second presentation and group. This intrigued me since they ended up displaying the chapter they were supposed to teach to others throughout their presentation. These participants appeared to be having a fantastic time while coming together and applying what they had learned. If there were any difficulties during one of the member's sections, this group always assisted each other. Every time someone spoke, they demonstrated how important each member of the group was, as they had previously discussed. I observed that the group members were encouraging one another, which improved team spirit and appeared to aid in the easier presentation of the meme age. They did not ask many questions, which is another thing I noticed. But I don't think this was the reason; I think they didn't ask as many questions because they were able to ask each other questions and would only come to me if they were completely lost and didn't know the answer. During this presentation, I thought this was something that helped their group develop and work as a stronger team.
Group 3:
The chapter on leadership and problem-solving was available to the third presentation and group. Based only on the presentation, it is obvious that the group's members showed some leadership and problem-solving abilities when it came to assisting one another and resolving any issues that came up. Around the beginning of the presentation, Group 3 had some problems, but they were able to come up with a workaround. Because the affected technical difficulties were having problems during the presentation, the group decided to have me help them start the presentation. Due to this, it is evident that the information they have gained during the chapter for his presentation, they were intended to pass. The group's members obviously appeared to have split off to form their own leadership group; nonetheless, they continued to support one another as needed. They demonstrate that the group genuinely came together to give the presentation and collective effort their all. Like the other groups, this one didn't appear to require much assistance beyond occasionally understanding deadlines and other minor information.
Very good!
